The Alma Historical Society and the Alma Area Museum could not exist without the support of our volunteers. These generous supporters donate several hours a year serving the mission of the Society. Volunteers are hosting our guests or assisting with the special events sponsored by the Museum. Much of what we do at the Society revolves around preservation and education. Help develop curriculum for our events, assist us in preparing educational materials and displays. You may choose to volunteer occasionally when your schedule allows or schedule a placement as often as once a week.

Museum Volunteer The Alma Area Museum is open on weekends during the summer and we need your help! Meet interesting people from around the world and support a great cause. Volunteers assist visitors and answer questions about our museum exhibits. We provide training. Morning and afternoon volunteer shifts are available. We are interviewing people who would enjoy being a part of the Museum's community outreach. Call 608-685-4067 to volunteer.
Special Projects Volunteer If you can't commit to an ongoing placement at the Museum but want to give your time when we need it most, consider volunteering to help with one of our special projects. Call 608-685-4067 to volunteer.
Speakers Bureau Volunteer Help us share the history of Alma and the work of the Alma Historical Society out to our communities. Our society becomes wants to know more about our city and its history and how they can help to preserve their heritage. Young people are just becoming interested in history and we can bring it to life by speaking to a school class. We experience this desire for knowledge and fascination with the past every day here at the Society ... your stories of Alma would be a great asset in helping us share the past. Call 608-685-4067 to volunteer.
Internship The Society offers unpaid internships for students wishing to gain experience and/or academic credit. If you are interested in an internship opportunity for the 2009-2010 school year please send an email to the Society and tell us a little about yourself and why this intern opportunity would be important to you. |
